Sail along a colossal reservoir and admire its hundred-year-old oak trees. With this boat trip on Lake Alqueva, you will see some of inland Portugal's most beautiful scenery.

Alqueva Lake Boat Trip

We will meet at the Alqueva reservoir at your chosen time, where a boat will be ready for our tour of one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe. During the journey, we will learn about the history of the dam and the biodiversity of the Guadiana river on which it is built. We will pass by the Herdade Monte da Tapada hill and the mouth of the river Degebe, flowing into the reservoir. We will sail around the picturesque small islands of the lake and, if weather permits, we will seek a spot for a swim.

After an hour and a half boat trip, visitors may explore the Alqueva Interpretation Centre, where a documentary presents how this area of Portugal has evolved due to the dam and its water supply.

The boat has a capacity of 55 people and features outside seating, with summer and winter decks. A refrigerator is available on board for your drinks.
