Alqueva Lake Boat Trip
We will meet at the time of your choice at the Alqueva reservoir, where a boat will be waiting for us for a tour of one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe. During the journey, we will learn about the history of the dam and the biodiversity of the Guadiana river. Highlights include passing by the Herdade Monte da Tapada hill and the mouth of the river Degebe, which flows into the reservoir. We will sail around the small islands of the lake and, weather permitting, look for a spot to swim.
After a 1.5-hour boat trip, you can visit the Alqueva Interpretation Centre to watch a documentary on the changes in the area due to the dam and its water supply.
The Boat
The boat has a capacity of 55 people, with outdoor seating and both summer and winter decks. A refrigerator is available for storing drinks.
