Alqueva Lake Boat Trip

We will meet at the time of your choice at the Alqueva reservoir, where a boat will be waiting for us to take us on a tour of one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe. During the journey, we will learn about the history of the dam and the biodiversity of the Guadiana river on which it is built. We will pass the Herdade Monte da Tapada hill and the mouth of the river Degebe, which flows into the reservoir. We will sail around the picturesque small islands of the lake and, if weather permits, look for a place to take a dip. After one and a half hours, you can visit the Alqueva Interpretation Centre, where you will see a documentary about the changes in this area of Portugal due to the dam and its water supply.
