Sail along a colossal reservoir and admire its hundred-year-old oak trees. With this boat trip on Lake Alqueva, you will see some of inland Portugal's most beautiful scenery.

Alqueva Lake Boat Trip

We will meet at the time of your choice at the Alqueva reservoir, where a boat will take us on a tour of one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe. During the journey, we will learn about the history of the dam and the biodiversity of the Guadiana river. The tour includes views of the Herdade Monte da Tapada hill and the mouth of the river Degebe. We will sail around the small islands of the lake and, if the weather permits, look for a place to swim. After an hour and a half of boating, you can visit the Alqueva Interpretation Centre to view a documentary about the area's changes due to the dam and water supply.

The boat

The boat for the tour has a capacity of 55 people, featuring outside seating and a summer and winter deck. There is a refrigerator on board for storing drinks.
