Santa Elena Reserve + Tioyacu River Private Tour
At 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Moyobamba and head east towards the Santa Elena ecological reserve. The trip by minibus will take about 1 hour.
We'll spend about 3 hours exploring the flora and fauna of the Santa Elena Ecological Reserve, a key location for ecotourism in the Alto Mayo forest. More than 130 species of birds are present, along with endemic mammals such as the titi monkey.
After learning about the reserve's biodiversity, we'll board a boat to navigate the river and continue enjoying nature, observing orchids, trees like huasca renaco, and bushes like platanillo bijao.
Next, we'll visit the source of the Tioyacu River, where you can take a refreshing dip in its crystal-clear waters.
The last stop will be on the outskirts of the city of Rioja for a lunch featuring a typical Peruvian dish and drinks known for their uniqueness.
Finally, the excursion will conclude at 5 pm, with a drop-off back at your hotel.
