Santa Elena Reserve + Tioyacu River Private Tour
At 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Moyobamba and head east to the Santa Elena ecological reserve, a journey by minibus that lasts about 1 hour.
We will spend approximately 3 hours exploring the Santa Elena Ecological Reserve, a key site for ecotourism in the Alto Mayo forest. This area is home to over 130 species of birds and various endemic mammals, such as the titi monkey.
After learning about the local wildlife and plants, we will board a boat to navigate the river within the reserve, where we will encounter orchids, huasca renaco trees, and platanillo bijao bushes.
Next, we will visit the source of the Tioyacu River, where you can take a refreshing dip amidst the lush surroundings of the crystal-clear waters.
Our final stop will be on the outskirts of Rioja, where we will try some curious local drinks and enjoy a typical Peruvian dish for lunch.
We will conclude the excursion at 5 pm, returning you to your hotel.
