Participants will meet at the designated time at Telegraph Cove harbor to commence an engaging kayak tour along the north coast of Vancouver Island.
Details of each tour option are outlined below.
2-hour tour
This tour focuses on the small islands and coves around Telegraph Cove. Participants will paddle through the area of British Columbia, aiming to spot various wildlife native to Vancouver Island, including bald eagles and seals.
The route includes paddling through the Johnstone Strait, a narrow arm of the Pacific Ocean. The tour concludes with a return to the starting dock.
2-hour sunset tour
This tour features paddling under the sunset light through the Johnstone Strait. If conditions permit, participants may see marine wildlife like sea lions, dolphins, and orcas.
The kayak journey will also showcase lush forests along the northern coastline. Participants will learn about over a hundred animal and plant species inhabiting these ecosystems. The tour finishes at the meeting point after two hours.
6-hour tour
This longer tour follows the same route as the 2-hour tour, continuing through the Johnstone Strait. A break will be taken at a local beach where participants can have a picnic. Post-lunch, the return trip includes viewing marine species like sea urchins, starfish, and various crustaceans.
After a rewarding 6 hours of kayaking, the tour concludes with a return to Telegraph Cove.
