Leave Munich for the Bavarian Alps to visit a mountain-top house with history linked to the Third Reich on a day trip to Berchtesgaden and the Eagle's Nest.

Description

At the specified time, meet in the center of Munich to board a bus to Berchtesgaden, a mountain town in the Bavarian Alps near the German-Austrian border.

Upon arrival, head to Obersalzberg station, the start point for visits to Kehlsteinhaus, or Eagle’s Nest, built for Nazi Party members during the Third Reich. To access the building at over 6,000 ft (1,834 m), you will use an elevator (entrance fee not included). Inside, see maps and objects used by Hitler and the Nazis during World War II. Outside, enjoy panoramic views over the mountains, valleys, and forests of the Bavarian Alps.

The guided tour of Kehlsteinhaus lasts around 2 hours, after which you'll return via the lift. Next, visit Grafenhöhe, a restaurant where you will have 1 hour and 15 minutes for lunch (not included).

After lunch, the return journey to the meeting point in Munich will conclude the tour, lasting between 10 and 10.5 hours in total.
