Day Trip to Salzburg by Train

Salzburg is a notable destination in Austria. This excursion by train from Munich allows you to explore the birth city of Mozart comfortably.

Salzburg Day Trip

We'll meet at Dachauer Str. 4 in Munich at the designated time to board the train to Salzburg. During the scenic 2-hour train journey, enjoy views of the Bavarian Alps that separate Germany and Austria.

Upon arrival in Salzburg, a guided walking tour commences. Equipped with a city map, you'll navigate the UNESCO-listed city, appreciating its Baroque architecture, castles, churches, monasteries, and squares. Key sites include the Domkirche Cathedral and the Festung Hohensalzburg fortress.

After the walking tour, you will have 3 hours of free time to explore the city further. Suggested visits include the Mirabell Palace and its gardens, which featured in the 'Do-Re-Mi' scene from The Sound of Music. You can also discover the medieval old town, step into Mozart's birthplace, visit the city market, and see the Salzburg Cathedral. This free time allows for shopping and enjoying local cuisine.

At the end of the day, we'll reconvene at the train station for the return journey to Munich, concluding the tour after a total of 10 hours upon our return.
