Harburg Castle and Rothenburg Day Trip
The route from Munich to Harburg Castle and the city of Rothenburg is often referred to as Southern Germany's Romantic Road. This trip leads you deep into the heart of Bavaria's forests and mountains.
After collecting you from the meeting point, we will begin our trip to Harburg Castle, where you can explore this 11th-century fortress at your own pace (entry not included). It is considered one of the oldest and best-conserved medieval citadels in Bavaria.
The route continues towards Rothenburg, passing through the fascinating volcanic landscapes of the Suabia region, rich with fossils of prehistoric animals.
Upon arrival at Rothenburg, a well-preserved medieval town known for its striking red rooftops, we will explore the cobbled streets and the enchanting old town. You will see the 14th-century city wall and enter through the old city gateway. There is an opportunity to stroll along the wall and climb to the top of the 200m Röedert Tower.
After the tour, you will have free time to eat and shop in the charming narrow streets. The return trip to Munich passes through Hallertau, the largest hop-growing area in the world, with an estimated arrival at around 7 pm.
