Discover the stories, fables, and legends hidden behind the walls of the Mad King's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that inspired Walt Disney himself, on this tour to Neuschwanstein Castle from Munich.

Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll meet at Sonnenstraße 1 in Munich and leave the city behind heading to the south of Bavaria on board a comfortable bus. During the two-hour trip, our English-speaking guide will keep us entertained with fascinating facts about the region.

Our first stop will be at Schloss Linderhof, the Bavarian King's smallest castle. Here, you'll have the option to enjoy a guided tour through the castle, take a stroll through the beautiful grounds, or enjoy a cup of tea or coffee surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

Then, we'll make our way to Hohenschwangau, where you'll have plenty of time to get yourself a bite to eat in a restaurant and visit Neuschwanstein Castle.

Not only will we get to see Neuschwanstein Castle itself, we'll also have the opportunity to admire the nearby Hohenschwangau Castle. Less well known than its neighbor but equally beautiful, it was the childhood home of Ludwig II of Bavaria, the creator of Neuschwanstein. We'll hear all about this historic figure, who was better known by his nickname, the Mad King, as we admire the legendary castle that inspired Walt Disney's own fairytale palace.

On the day of the activity, you'll have the choice to enter Neuschwanstein Castle to see its majestic interior decoration. While tickets aren't included, you won't have to wait in line. The castle is a short uphill walk from the car park, or you can choose to get there by horse-drawn carriage or bus instead.

After an unforgettable 10.5 hours of discovering German history and architecture, we'll head back to Munich, where the tour will end.
