Spend a full day exploring Bavaria's second largest city. Learn about Nuremberg's complex history and enjoy views of traditional German wooden houses along the Pegnitz River.

Nuremberg Day Trip

After meeting in Munich, embark on a comfortable express train journey of less than two hours to Nuremberg. Begin your guided tour of the historic centre, focusing on the city's significant past, from its role in Nazi Germany to its cultural importance under the German Empire.

Wander through the Altstadt, or Old Town, which is divided by the Pegnitz River. Admire the Imperial Castle, Gothic churches housing important German art, and lively markets that have been a tradition for nearly 700 years. Enjoy free time to explore the picturesque sights at your own pace and have lunch (not included). If visiting in December, experience the famous Christmas market.

The tour will also include sites from the Nazi era, such as the Nazi Party Rally Grounds, the largest surviving Third Reich building, where your guide will discuss the notable Nuremberg Trials, which prosecuted those responsible for Nazi crimes during World War II.

Upon completing the tour, return to Munich, arriving after approximately 10 hours.
