Mussomeli Monuments Tour

We will meet at the Piazzale Castello Manfredonico to explore Mussomeli's characteristic monuments.

Before entering the Manfredonico Castle, we will admire its façade and discuss its historical significance. Built in the 14th century by a descendant of Charlemagne, the castle was commissioned by Manfredi III Chiaramonte, a key figure in Sicily.

Inside the castle, we will visit the armoury, throne room, bedroom, and chapel, observing the building's decoration and discussing its secret traps.

After the castle, we will head to the center of Mussomeli for a guided tour of other important historical monuments.

We will visit the church of San Ludovico or Chiesa Madre, built at Manfredi III's request. Afterward, we will see the façade of the Clock Tower, explore Palazzo Trabia, and Palazzo Sgadari, which now serves as the archaeological museum of Mussomeli.

After a four-hour tour, we will conclude the guided tour at Palazzo Sgadari.
