Why Visit Mycenae?

Located on the Peloponnese peninsula, Mycenae is an essential archaeological site in Europe, known as the home of the legendary kingdom of Agamemnon and giving its name to the Mycenaean period (1600 to 1200 BC). This ticket allows you to experience the scenes from Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, starting with the impressive Lion Gate, a significant city entrance at more than 3 metres (9.8 feet) high, adorned with a monolith depicting two lions.

You will see the ruins of the royal Palace of Agamemnon and the Treasury of Atreus (Tomb of Agamemnon), a prime example of Mycenaean architecture with its characteristic "Tholos" shape. The site is protected by a large wall traditionally credited to the Cyclops.

This ticket also provides access to the Archaeological Museum of Mycenae, where visitors can view a photographic exhibition and a collection of over 2500 Mycenaean objects.
