Why Visit Mycenae?
On the Peloponnese peninsula lies Mycenae, a significant archaeological site in Europe, which served as the legendary kingdom of Agamemnon during the Mycenaean period (1600 to 1200 BC). This ticket allows you to explore scenes from Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, starting with the Lion Gate, a 3-meter high entrance adorned with lions.
You'll also see the ruins of the royal Palace of Agamemnon and the Treasury of Atreus, notable for its circular "Tholos" shape. Mycenae is encircled by a wall traditionally believed to have been built by the Cyclops.
