Solheimajokull Ice Climbing & Glacier Hike

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the glacier parking lot to start this ice climbing and hiking experience on the Sólheimajökull glacier. Welcome to the south of Iceland!

Once introductions have been made, we'll begin a 30-minute hiking route to the glacier. During the hike, we'll provide information about these colossal ice formations.

Upon reaching the foot of Sólheimajökull, we'll equip you with the necessary gear and explain the basics of ice climbing. Then, we'll begin climbing up the walls and crevasses of the glacier.

The ice cap we will climb sits on the Katla volcano, one of the largest and most active craters in Iceland. If the day is clear, we may see Eyjafjallajökull, the volcano that disrupted European air traffic in 2010 due to its eruption.

After ice climbing, we'll hike back to the meeting point, arriving approximately 4 hours after the activity begins.
