Solheimajokull Ice Climbing & Glacier Hike

We will meet at the glacier parking lot at the designated time to start this ice climbing and hiking experience on the Sólheimajökull glacier.

Following introductions, we will begin a 30-minute hike to the glacier, during which we will share information about the ice formations.

Upon reaching the Sólheimajökull foot, we will don the necessary equipment and explain the basics of ice climbing. Then, the climbing on the walls and crevasses of the glacier will commence.

The ice cap that we will climb sits on the Katla volcano, one of Iceland's largest and most active craters. If the day is clear, there is a chance to see Eyjafjallajökull, the volcano known for disrupting European air traffic in 2010 due to its ash eruption.

After ice climbing, we will hike back to the meeting point, approximately 4 hours after starting the activity.
