Shirakawago and Hirayu Onsen Tour

We will gather at the Shirakawago bus station at our prearranged time to embark on this immersive journey into the countryside.

Our first destination is the picturesque village of Shirakawago, where we will delve into its historical significance. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this enchanting locale features traditional houses with distinctive thatched roofs, serene ponds, and expansive rice terraces.

Next, we’ll explore the Wada family residence, which will grant us insight into a traditional Japanese household. We will also discover various tools linked to silk production. Throughout the visit, our knowledgeable guide will share captivating stories and facts about the area.

After our time in Shirakawago, we’ll board the bus for a scenic journey to Hirayu Onsen, nestled in the Japanese Alps. After approximately an hour and a half, we will arrive, ready to immerse ourselves in the soothing thermal pools. Here, soaking is not only a leisurely activity but also a vital part of a traditional purification process.

Feeling rejuvenated, we will then embark on a serene walk to uncover another natural wonder—the Hirayu Waterfalls. This trek will allow us to appreciate the peacefulness of the surroundings and the breathtaking landscape.

As the day comes to a close, we will transport you to Takayama station, concluding this enriching 8-hour experience.
