Day Trip Details

We will meet you at your hotel in Kanazawa at the arranged time and take a public bus to the historic village of Shirakawago. Enjoy the scenic drive through the Japanese Alps, lasting approximately 1 hour. Our first stop will be the Wada-House, the largest traditional Gassho-style farmhouse in Shirakawago.

Explore the concentration of Gassho-zukuri style houses with their unique thatched roofs designed for heavy snowfall, constructed using only ropes. Join a 1-hour guided tour of Ogimachi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and learn about local life and the history of these homes, some over 250 years old, now serving as open-air museums.

You will have one hour of free time to have lunch at local restaurants before we begin the return journey to Kanazawa, reaching your hotel approximately 5 hours after the tour's start.

Hotel Pickup

We will meet you at your hotel if you are in downtown Kanazawa. If you are not, we will meet you directly at the Kanazawa bus station. If necessary, you may need to take a taxi (at your expense) or walk to the bus station.
