Tour Options

At the time of booking, you can choose a guided tour of 20, 45 or 70 minutes. They'll start from Number 22 Kamininomachi Street at the scheduled time:

20-Minute Tour

This option will allow you to get to know the main parts of the historic centre of Takayama. We'll walk through charming streets where the oldest houses date back to the 17th century. We will admire the facade of the Takayama Jinya and cross the Miyagawa river via the red bridge, known as Nakabashi, where we'll conclude the tour.

45-Minute Tour

This option includes a visit to the old town of Takayama and further exploration of the spirituality of Japanese culture at the Yamazakura sanctuary. After learning about its history, we'll conclude the tour outside the temple.

70-Minute Tour

This tour is the most complete, covering the historical centre, Yamazakura Shrine, and Hida Kokubun-ji Temple. We will explore the temple, notable for its three-storey pagoda and the great ginkgo tree, a thousand-year-old natural monument. We'll finish the tour outside Hida Kokubun-ji Temple.
