Takayama & Shirakawago Day Tour

We will convene at the west exit of Nagoya Station at the scheduled time to embark on our journey to uncover the wonders of Takayama and Shirakawago.

After a bus ride of around 2 hours, we will reach Takayama, a charming city nestled in the Hida Mountains. You will have the opportunity to wander along Sannomachi Street in the historic district, where you can admire the beautifully preserved traditional wooden houses and temples tucked away within the narrow streets. Have you ever encountered Sarubobo Dolls? Discover their cultural significance!

Enjoy some leisure time to savor a meal at one of the local eateries. We will provide recommendations for the most authentic dining options in Takayama, featuring traditional Japanese cuisine. Following your meal, we will visit Miyagawa and Jinya-mae, two vibrant markets that showcase the daily routines of the local residents.

Continuing our adventure, we will travel to Shirakawago, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you can stroll through its picturesque streets and observe the distinctive triangular thatched roofs of its historic buildings, which are over 250 years old and embody the essence of rural Japanese life.

Additionally, we will offer a visit to the Ogimachi Castle Observatory Deck, where you can enjoy breathtaking vistas of the quaint villages of Gassho-mura and Mount Hakusan. Our final stop will be at the popular Ochiudo Cafe, known for its lively ambiance.

After a fulfilling day, we will return to Nagoya, arriving back at our original meeting spot after approximately 10 hours.

Takayama & Shirakawago Day Tour + Viewpoint

If you opt for this selection, the itinerary remains the same as previously mentioned. Additionally, in Shirakawago, you will have the chance to ascend to a viewpoint after visiting the café. Access to the viewpoint will be via a shuttle bus, included in your tour package.

This option extends the experience by an additional 30 minutes, with a departure time of 8:30 am.
