Tour Overview

Day 1: Nairobi - Isiolo



Welcome to Nairobi! Upon your arrival, either at the airport or your hotel, we will be ready to start this exciting 9-day expedition through Northern Kenya. Prepare to explore the stunning landscapes and meet authentic tribes. The adventure commences!



Before hitting the road, we will stop at the Hilton Garden Inn for a delicious buffet breakfast. Energized, we'll proceed toward the village of Isiolo, passing through fertile fields and enjoying breathtaking views of the magnificent Mount Kenya.



As the sun sets, we will arrive at our hotel in Isiolo, giving you time to enjoy dinner and relax after the day’s travels.

Day 2: Isiolo - Marsabit National Park



After breakfast, we will depart from Isiolo to head toward Marsabit National Park. The journey will take us through varying altitudes, showcasing a transition from lush vegetation to more arid lands.



We’ll stop for lunch at our accommodation before embarking on a safari through Marsabit National Park, a haven on Mount Marsabit known for its populous zebras and diverse birdlife.



As we explore the park in pursuit of wildlife, we’ll reach the crater’s edge, where a hiking trail leads us to the picturesque Lake Paradise. Be prepared to be spellbound by this enchanting sight!



After our adventure, we'll return to the hotel for dinner and a restful evening, ready for the upcoming explorations.

Day 3: Marsabit National Park - North Horr



Begin your day with an early breakfast as we delve into the remote areas of Kenya. Before leaving Marsabit National Park, we will investigate its desert territory and see the effects of climate change in the region.



Our path will then lead us to North Horr, traversing unique rocky trails and stopping at the Kalacha Oasis—a vital water source for local shepherds guiding their camels.



Continuing on to North Horr, we’ll enjoy lunch at our hotel. In the afternoon, we’ll ascend a vastsand dune, where stunning views await from the top!



The day concludes with a delightful dinner at the lodge.

Day 4: North Horr - Loiyangalani



After a filling breakfast at the North Horr Hotel, we will head toward Loiyangalani. The morning includes a hike through the striking rocky landscapes influenced by historic volcanic activity, culminating at the scenic Lake Turkana.



Midday brings us to the lodge for a restorative lunch. Afterward, we will meet the El Molo tribe, the smallest tribe in Kenya, residing along the lagoon. Learn about their water-based lifestyle and discover ancient fishing methods.



We’ll conclude our journey for the day by returning to our hotel.

Day 5: Loiyangalani



The fifth day continues the exploration of the Loiyangalani region. After breakfast, our visit to the Turkana village will shed light on local wood craftsmanship. Discover the significance behind the tribesmen's tattoos and their cultural meanings.



Following lunch at the hotel, our afternoon will be spent at the Desert Museum, a fascinating venue that highlights the lives, traditions, art, and beliefs of the desert's inhabitants.



We’ll finish the day with a dinner at the hotel.

Day 6: Loiyangalani - Ngurunit



After a hearty breakfast, we will say goodbye to Loiyangalani and travel to Ngurunit. Along the way, we will make a visit to the Wind Power project. Once at the lodge, you will have some time to relax and enjoy a fulfilling lunch.



The afternoon features a camel ride alongside the Ngurunit River and through the Rendille village, immersing you in the culture of these local African communities.



The day will end with a delicious dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7: Ngurunit - Samburu National Reserve



The day begins early as we depart from Ngurunit towards the renowned Samburu National Reserve. We expect to arrive by midday, where lunch awaits before we embark on a safari.



Be on the lookout for antelopes, giraffes, leopards, elephants, and lions during our time in the reserve. We’ll conclude the day by witnessing a stunning sunset over the African savannah.



We’ll return to the hotel for dinner and a restful evening.

Day 8: Samburu National Reserve



As we near the end of our journey, the eighth day is reserved for a comprehensive exploration of the Samburu National Reserve. Our safari will focus on discovering its unique wildlife.



After lunch at the lodge, we'll gain insight into the rich traditions of the Samburu tribe by visiting one of their villages. Related to the Maasai, these tribespeople from the highlands and deserts will enlighten you on their herding traditions and historical practices, including the meanings behind their colorful attire and captivating warrior stories.



We'll end the day with dinner and rest at the lodge.

Day 9: Samburu National Reserve - Nairobi



After a satisfying breakfast, we will commence our return to Nairobi, aiming to drop you off at JKI Airport around 4 pm. We look forward to seeing you again!

Flight Information



Please note, for pickup at JKI Airport in Nairobi, your flight must arrive before 7 am on the first day to participate in the tour. For your departure on the last day, we recommend scheduling a flight that leaves Nairobi after 7 pm.
