Climb to the peak of Mount Vesuvius and enjoy the panoramic views of the Neopolitan bay from the summit of this volcano.
Mount Vesuvius Day Trip
Pickup will be from the agreed meeting point at the scheduled time, followed by a journey to Torre del Greco, located at the foot of the volcano. We will then begin a walking trail leading to the peak of the mountain, which stands at almost 1,000 metres (3,280 feet). The area is historically significant due to the eruption in 79 AD that devastated Pompei, Herculaneum, and Stabiae. During our descent, we will discuss this event and share historical facts about the mountain, which has been featured in various films and TV series.
At the end of the trek, we will return by bus to Naples, with an estimated return time of 3.5 to 4 hours.
Climbing Mount Vesuvius
The ascent to Mount Vesuvius will be on foot up to about 1,200 metres (3,937 feet). Individuals with mobility difficulties or those who prefer not to climb can wait at the rest point at the bottom of the mountain.
In the event of adverse weather conditions that result in the closure of the crater, a stop will be made at a viewpoint for photographs.
Language
During the bus ride, an English-speaking guide will provide information about Vesuvius. The ascent will be guided by a park guide, but availability of English-speaking guides for this portion cannot be guaranteed.
Pickup
When booking, you may select your pickup location: your hotel in Naples, the cruise terminal, or directly at the central station (outside the Star Hotel Terminus in Plaza Garibaldi?). Pickup at the port is available only for cruise ship passengers. For city stays, pickup will be at your hotel or the train station.
