Mount Vesuvius Day Trip

We'll pick you up from the agreed meeting point at the indicated time and travel to Torre del Greco, the town at the foot of Mount Vesuvius. We will commence a walking trail leading to the peak of the mountain, at approximately 1,000 metres (3,280 feet) high, where you can see the Neopolitan bay. This location experienced a famous eruption in 79 AD, devastating Pompei, Herculaneum, and Stabiae.

While descending, we'll learn about this historic event during the Roman empire and discover interesting facts about the mountain, known for its appearances in numerous films and TV series. The return bus to Naples will take about 3.5 to 4 hours.

Climbing Mount Vesuvius

The ascent to Mount Vesuvius will be on foot, reaching about 1,200 metres (3,937 feet). Individuals with mobility issues or those opting not to climb can wait for the group at the rest point at the bottom of the mountain.

In cases of adverse weather, the crater may be closed to visitors, and we will stop at a viewpoint for photos instead.

Language

During the bus ride, you'll receive information about Vesuvius from an English-speaking guide. On the hike, you will be accompanied by one of the park's guides, but the availability of an English-speaking guide for this segment is not guaranteed.

Pickup

When booking, you can select your pickup point: your hotel in Naples, the cruise terminal, or the central station just outside the Star Hotel Terminus in Plaza Garibaldi. Note that port pickup is available only for cruise ship passengers. For city stays, pickup will be at your hotel or the train station.
