Mount Vesuvius Day Trip

Pick up will be from the agreed meeting point and we will travel to Torre del Greco, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius. Here, we will begin a trail on foot leading to the peak at almost 1,000 metres (3,280 feet). At the summit, you can enjoy views of the Neopolitan bay and learn about the eruption that occurred in 79 AD which affected Pompei, Herculaneum, and Stabiae. The descent includes insights into the historical event and facts about the mountain's appearances in films and TV series.

After the trek, we will return by bus to Naples, arriving in approximately 3.5 to 4 hours.

Climbing Mount Vesuvius

The ascent to Mount Vesuvius will be on foot up to about 1,200 metres (3,937 feet). Those with mobility issues or who do not wish to climb can wait at the rest point at the bottom of the mountain. In case of weather issues, the crater may be closed, and we will visit a viewpoint for photos.

Language

During the bus ride, an English-speaking guide will provide information about Vesuvius. However, during the climb, the park's guide will accompany the group, and availability of an English-speaking guide is not guaranteed.

Pickup

When booking, you can choose to start the tour at your hotel in Naples, the cruise terminal, or the central station (outside the Star Hotel Terminus in Plaza Garibaldi?). Note that pickup at the port is only for cruise ship passengers; city guests will be picked up from their hotel or train station.
