Visit two of the symbolic areas in Naples with this Naples Castle Tour. You'll explore Borgo Marinari and Castel Nuovo to discover their historical significance.
Description
At your chosen time, we'll meet outside Castel dell'Ovo, the oldest fortress in Naples, and explore its 2,000 years of history. This site has served as a defensive structure, prison, and royal residence. We'll view it from the outside and discuss its past, while enjoying a view of the Tyrrhenian Sea and Mount Vesuvius.
Next, we'll proceed to Borgo Marinari, a port on the islet of Megaride, to learn about the activities in its marina.
Continuing the tour, we will head to Castel Nuovo. Along the journey, we will see significant landmarks such as Piazza del Plebiscito, the exterior of the Royal Palace, San Carlo Theatre, and Humberto I Gallery.
As we approach the New Castle, built between 1279 and 1282, you'll be impressed by its towers and walls. Inside, we'll visit Capella Palatina, which features beautiful frescoes, and admire the Civic Museum's paintings. Additional sites include the Sala de Los Barones.
After 3 hours of exploration, we'll conclude the tour at the starting point.
