Naples Maradona Tour
Our journey begins at the designated meeting point in the Piazza Municipio, situated in the vibrant center of Naples. This tour invites you to uncover the centuries-old heritage of this remarkable city, visiting iconic streets and landmarks that have been part of its storied past.
We will first visit the splendid Galleria Umberto I, a significant structure whose construction kicked off in 1887. This architectural gem symbolizes the risanamento period—a transformative phase for Naples that continued until the onset of World War I. Our path will also include a view of the San Carlo Theatre, considered the oldest continuously operating opera house globally since its inauguration in 1737.
After admiring the stunning Piazza Plebiscito, we will make our way to the Quartieri Spagnoli via a charming stairway of the funicular railway. As we walk through the narrow and cobblestone streets, we will pass by grand palaces and Baroque facades until we reach the poignant mural of Diego Armando Maradona.
This heartfelt mural serves as a tribute to the iconic Argentinian footballer, who profoundly impacted the SSC Napoli and the broader realm of football. The mural reflects the vibrant devotion and pride that the city of Naples continues to express for the 'Pibe de Oro' (golden child).
Following two enriching hours of exploration, our tour will come to a close.
