Tour Overview
We'll convene at the designated time in front of the Teatro Mercadante, where tickets will be distributed before we descend the stairs to board the train, initiating our journey through the stunning Neapolitan metro.
Our first stop will showcase the art installations at a station conceived by architects Àlvaro Siza and Eduardo Souto de Moura. You might be intrigued to learn that the design incorporates archaeological artifacts from ancient Neapolis, uncovered during the station's construction. Here, we'll witness the Passaggi projection along with pieces by Mimmo Jodice, where the intersection of past and present creates a unique atmosphere!
Next, we’ll travel by subway to visit four key stations within the city's extensive metro system, while discussing the urban revitalization efforts and notable landmarks situated above ground.
Our route includes the Toledo station, celebrated for its marine-inspired mosaics, the Università stop, which symbolizes contemporary communication with its vibrant futuristic designs, and the Dante stop, recognized for its striking display of Dante Alighieri's Convivio in brilliant white neon—one of the most photographed artworks along the entire metro line!
Following a 2-hour deep dive into the fascinating world of the Naples metro, we will conclude our journey at one of its stations. However, with your 24-hour ticket, you have the opportunity to continue your exploration and visit the rest of the metro network at your leisure.
