Sierra Baguales Hiking Tour
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Puerto Natales at 7:30 am and set off towards the Sierra Baguales.
Upon arrival, we'll enjoy coffee and cookies before starting our hiking adventure. After breakfast, we'll take a short half-hour walk to the Irene Lagoon, a lake inhabited by the Andean condor. We will also share information about the colonization of Chilean Patagonia.
Next, we will take the bus to the starting point of the second part of the hike through the Sierra Baguales. We will walk for 12 and a half kilometers (7.8 miles) to an area with marine fossils over 50 million years old. This site was previously underwater, providing a unique glimpse into geological history.
Then, we will ascend to a viewpoint at 1200 meters (4,000 feet) above sea level for views of the snowcapped peaks and valleys below. During our break, we will have a picnic lunch consisting of a sandwich, fruit, a cereal bar, nuts, and water.
Finally, we will return to Puerto Natales, arriving at your hotel by 6:30 pm.
