Day Trip Details

At the designated time, pickup will be from your hotel in Neiva to visit the Tatacoa Desert, the second-largest arid region in Colombia, classified as a tropical dry forest. The average temperature can exceed 95°F (35°C) with various adapted flora and fauna.

Dinner will be served at either the El Rincón del Cabrito restaurant or the terrace of Hotel Cosmos, offering an outdoor experience with views of the natural landscape. The specialty dish is roasted goat, popular in the region of Huila.

Following dinner, guests will proceed to either the Astrosur Astronomical Observatory or the VyctoriaStars Observatory, subject to availability. The observatory's Spanish-speaking team will conduct a discussion on the significance of the Tatacoa Desert as a prime stargazing location. With favorable weather, participants may experience a captivating night sky.

After the observatory visit, the return journey to the starting point will complete this 6-hour day trip.
