Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Neiva and set off to the Tatacoa Desert for an experience in one of Colombia's notable locations.
The Tatacoa Desert, the second-largest arid region in Colombia, is classified as a tropical dry forest. Although the average temperature can exceed 95°F (35°C), it supports various adapted plants and animals.
We'll take you to the El Rincón del Cabrito restaurant or the terrace of Hotel Cosmos for an outdoor dinner with a view of the natural landscape. The restaurant's specialty is roasted goat, a popular dish in the region of Huila.
After dinner, we will proceed to either the Astrosur Astronomical Observatory or the VyctoriaStars Observatory, depending on availability. The Spanish-speaking team will provide a discussion about why the Tatacoa Desert is a favored stargazing site. If conditions permit, you may witness the starlit sky.
Finally, we will begin our journey back to the starting point, completing this 6-hour day trip.
