The Valley of the Ghosts, the Cuzco Labyrinth, and the Astronomical Observatory are key highlights of the Tatacoa Desert excursion, exploring one of Colombia's largest arid regions.
Description
At the designated time, you will be picked up at your hotel in Neiva for a drive to the Tatacoa Desert, approximately one hour away.
Before entering the desert, we will stop in Villavieja for a coffee and a short boat ride on the Magdalena River to observe local wildlife. This will be followed by a guided tour of the town and the Paleontological Museum.
Afterward, we will enter the desert, walking through its distinctive orange landscapes and key areas including the Valley of the Ghosts and the Valley of the Xilopalos. We will also swim in a pool fed by local springs and enjoy Colombian gastronomy.
In the afternoon, we will explore the Cuzco Labyrinth, characterized by mud formations reaching 20 meters (65 feet). We will conclude our walk by enjoying the sunset.
At night, we will visit the Astronomical Observatory to view stars, planets, and constellations with guidance from expert astronomers, enhancing our stargazing experience.
Finally, we will return to your hotel in Neiva, completing the tour after 13 hours.
