The Valley of the Ghosts, the Cuzco Labyrinth, and the Astronomical Observatory are highlights of the excursion to the Tatacoa Desert, one of Colombia's largest arid regions.
Description
We will pick you up at your hotel in Neiva and drive to the Tatacoa Desert, approximately one hour away.
On the way, we'll stop in Villavieja for Colombian coffee and a short boat ride on the Magdalena River to observe its fauna, followed by a guided tour of the town and its Paleontological Museum.
Afterward, we'll enter the desert and walk through its orange landscape, exploring key points like the Valley of the Ghosts, Valley of the Xilopalos, and the Strait of the Señoritas.
We will swim in a pool in the desert fed by local springs and enjoy Colombian gastronomy for lunch.
In the afternoon, we'll visit the Cuzco Labyrinth, a unique winding path shaped by mud formations up to 20 meters (65 feet) high. We will enjoy the sunset here.
At night, we'll visit the Astronomical Observatory to observe stars and planets with the guidance of expert astronomers. This will enhance our stargazing experience.
Finally, we will return you to your hotel in Neiva, concluding the tour after a total of 13 hours.
