Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and begin this day in the Tatacoa Desert, the second driest region in Colombia.

First, we'll visit the village of La Victoria for a fossil workshop led by local youth focused on preserving the paleontological heritage.

During the workshop, we'll learn to identify fossils, the different types of fossilization, extraction techniques such as enchaquetada ("jacketed extraction"), and methods for preservation.

After this experience, we will have a traditional lunch. Following lunch, we'll proceed to the Tatacoa Natural History Museum.

During our guided tour of the museum, we will see fossil collections from this major paleontological site. You'll be impressed!

Finally, we will return to the starting point, concluding the activity between 10 and 12 hours after it began.
