Alfarnate and Alfarnatejo Olive Oil Tour Itinerary

We will depart from your hotel in Nerja and head to an ancient olive grove in the province of Malaga, where traditional techniques of cultivating and harvesting olives are demonstrated, leading to the production of olive oil.

The next stop is an authentic Andalusian farmhouse with its own oil mill, illustrating the oil extraction process. A comprehensive tasting of a wide variety of olives will follow.

After the tasting, the group will proceed to the foothills of Malaga for a delicious traditional lunch at the Venta de Alfarnate, one of the oldest establishments in Andalucia. The menu includes a drink and a typical local dish featuring sausage, pork, migas, fried eggs, and oranges.

La Venta del Alfarnate also features a small museum showcasing exhibitions about the skirmishes between the civil population and Napoleon’s troops during the war of Independence, which began in 1808.

Post-lunch, the journey will continue to the “Pyrenees of Malaga” to visit the charming mountain villages of Alfarnatejo and Alfarnate, known for their olive groves and contrasting landscapes with the nearby Costa del Sol. The tour will conclude with a return to Nerja.
