Why See Aladdin on Broadway?
The musical tells the story of Aladdin, an 18-year-old living on the streets of Agrabah with his monkey, Abu. His life changes when he finds a magic lamp containing a genie who grants him three wishes. Aladdin uses these wishes to pursue Jasmine, the Sultan's daughter. However, the villainous Jafar steals the lamp, leading Aladdin to save Jasmine and the kingdom.
The production features dance and visual effects and runs for two and a half hours. It is produced by the creators of The Lion King and Sister Act.

The New Amsterdam Theater, opened in 1903 and located in Times Square, is the venue for Aladdin. It has a seating capacity of 1,801 and was renovated in 1997 to host Disney musicals.
