You will find over 45 exhibit spaces showcasing flora, fauna, fossils, minerals, various cultures, and even meteorites—deciding on where to commence will surely be a challenge!

During your tour, don’t miss three of the museum's iconic highlights: the T-Rex, the majestic 94-foot-long blue whale, and the enigmatic Easter Island Head.

This option provides access to more than 40 rooms showcasing nature and the universe.

General Admission + 1 Ticketed Exhibition

In this category, in addition to exploring over 40 rooms, you can take pleasure in one of the following attractions: the Davis Family Butterfly Vivarium, the Invisible Worlds exhibition, an exciting film shown on the giant screen, the astronomical display of the Hayden Planetarium, or other special exhibitions requiring a ticket.

General Admission + Access to All Ticketed Exhibitions

This ticket grants you access to over 40 rooms as well as the opportunity to visit two or more of the museum's temporary exhibitions: the Davis Family Butterfly Vivarium, the Invisible Worlds exhibit, a film projected on the giant screen, the astronomical presentation at the Hayden Planetarium, or additional exhibitions requiring admission.

Invisible Worlds

Immerse yourself in the hidden realms of nature, exploring everything from the ocean depths to the strands of DNA in living organisms. This exceptional experience is set in the museum’s 360° immersive theater.

Encounters in the Milky Way

The latest cosmic show at the museum, narrated by Pedro Pascal, takes you on a temporal voyage revealing the cosmic events that shape our galactic surroundings. You’ll uncover the serendipitous encounters that define our place in the cosmos.

Life at the Limits

Nature’s extraordinary survivors display the remarkable “superpowers” that some unique organisms possess to endure and thrive even in harsh conditions.

Giant Screen Film

The museum features the LeFrak Theater, showcasing a screen measuring 40 ft tall and 65 ft wide (12 m tall by 20 m wide) along with an advanced digital sound system. Here, you can watch films inspired by the wonders of nature. The theater is wheelchair accessible and provides subtitles and audiodescription devices.

Davis Family Butterfly Vivarium

This engaging exhibition runs throughout the year, allowing you to share a space with up to 1000 butterflies fluttering freely.

Impact: The End of the Age of Dinosaurs

The dinosaur age might still be ongoing if not for one cataclysmic event that transformed everything. This exhibit investigates the pre-and post-history of the catastrophic asteroid impact that occurred sixty-six million years ago, along with the proliferation of life that followed.

The American Museum of Natural History welcomes visitors daily from 10 am to 5:30 pm.
