Joal-Fadiouth is one of the most picturesque locations on the Petite-Côte coast of Senegal. Discover it for yourself when you take this trip from Saly.
Joal-Fadiouth Private Trip
We will pick you up in the morning from your hotel in Saly, before heading to Joal, one of the two municipalities that form the Joal-Fadiouth area.
Upon arrival at the ancient 15th-century colony, we will first stop at the famous fishing port. As we explore the area, you will learn about its history and notable figures, including poet and politician Léopold Sédar Senghor, the first president of Senegal.
The next part of the tour takes us to the neighboring settlement of Fadiouth. We will walk across a wooden bridge that connects the two communities. Here, you will find the local cemetery with tombs made from the shells of mollusks. The graveyard is shared by both Muslims and Christians, symbolizing peace and tolerance among Senegal's diverse cultures.
After touring the cemetery, you can opt for a gentle canoe ride back to Joal (optional - €15, one passenger per canoe), or you can walk back via the same bridge.
From Joal, we will return you to your hotel in Saly. During the one-hour journey, you will admire the coastal landscapes of Senegal.
