Joal-Fadiouth is situated on the Petite-Côte coast of Senegal. This trip from Saly offers an opportunity to explore the area.

Joal-Fadiouth Private Trip

You will be picked up from your hotel in Saly in the morning and taken to Joal, one of the two municipalities in the Joal-Fadiouth region.

Upon arrival at the historic 15th-century colony, the first stop will be the fishing port, where you will learn about its history and notable people, including Léopold Sédar Senghor, Senegal's first president and a prominent 20th-century African intellectual.

The tour continues to the neighboring settlement of Fadiouth, accessed by a wooden bridge connecting the two communities. Here, you will visit the local cemetery, known for tombs and headstones made from moluscs, symbolizing peace and tolerance between different religions in Senegal.

After the cemetery tour, you can choose to return to Joal via a gentle canoe ride (optional - €15), or walk back across the bridge.

From Joal, you will be taken back to your hotel in Saly, enjoying the coastal landscapes during the one-hour journey.
