4x4 Tour of Los Genoveses & Mónsul Beaches
We will gather at the Rambla de los Frailes at the designated time to commence our 4x4 exploration of some of Almeria's most pristine coastal environments.
The initial destination will be the ancient gold mines of Rodalquilar. Upon arrival, we will disembark from our 1980s 4x4 to delve into discussions about the significant impact of gold mining on the local economic landscape. These mines were in operation until the mid-20th century!
Next, we will proceed to visit some of the area's stunning untouched beaches, starting with Los Genoveses. This location is notable for being the filming site of an intense scene from the movie El Niño. During our ride, the vehicle will be equipped with screens to view some of these cinematic moments.
As we reach Mónsul Beach, we will exit the vehicle to capture memorable photographs and fully appreciate the magnificent vistas. This rugged coastline also featured in a scene from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, chosen by director Steven Spielberg himself.
If your visit falls during the summer months, you'll have the chance to enjoy free time on the beach to relax and take a refreshing swim.
Afterward, we will venture inland, revealing some of the area’s remarkable architecture and scenic views. This region is also known for a poignant historical event that inspired Federico García Lorca in crafting his renowned work Bodas de Sangre.
In conclusion, we will make our way back to the original meeting point, wrapping up this exhilarating journey approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes after we set off.
