Canyoning in the canyon of the Negro river offers a unique experience in the natural setting of Tobia, including a descent down a waterfall.
Canyoning in Tobia
At a pre-arranged time, we will meet on the main road of Tobia to commence a hiking route through the jungle adjacent to the Negro River. This canyoning adventure includes a 40-minute hike along the path of the old railway that once traversed this area, moving away from the center of Tobia deeper into the canyon.
During the hike, participants will be able to observe local fauna and flora while receiving insights about the area's natural significance. The trail leads us to a waterfall where we will don the necessary canyoning equipment, including a helmet and harness. We will provide a briefing on essential safety measures to follow during the activity.
Participants will then descend the waterfall, experiencing an adrenaline-filled adventure as they slide down on ropes into a splash at the bottom. After enjoying the pool at the waterfall, exploration of the Negro River banks will follow, where you'll face natural obstacles like stone walls and gorges. The return hike will commence after approximately two hours of activity, concluding back at the starting point.
