On this day trip to Las Máquinas, we'll walk through streams of natural boiling springs and fumaroles, before visiting Callos Lagoon's hot springs.
Day Trip Details
After picking you up from your hotel in Caviahue, we'll head northeast towards Copahue. Our first stop will be at the Mirador de Caviahue to admire the Copahue Volcano and lake.
Continuing for approximately 30 minutes, we'll reach Las Máquinas, where we will wander amongst fumaroles and boiling springs. This area is named Las Máquinas (The Machines) due to the sounds that resemble steam engines.
Next, we will visit the old Bustillo Inn to see the remains of South America's first geothermal power plant and explore its geothermal well.
After this, we'll travel to the village of Copahue to visit Agua de Limón (Lemon Water), a natural hot spring used for laxative purposes. The day trip will conclude with a visit to Callos Lagoon in Copahue's Thermal Complex, where you'll have 45 minutes of free time to enjoy the warm volcanic waters.
Finally, we'll return to Caviahue and say our goodbyes at your hotel after a total of 4 hours.
