On this tour to Cihuatán, you'll visit one of the largest archaeological sites in El Salvador and learn about the country's different cultures and ethnicities.
Itinerary
We will pick you up from your hotel in San Salvador at the indicated time and head north to the Pablo Tesak Museum and Cultural Centre. This part of the journey will take about 30 minutes.
At the museum, you will explore numerous archaeological pieces that illustrate El Salvador's past. Our next stop will be Cihuatán.
Upon arrival at this archaeological site, we will see a Maya pyramid that is over 3,000 years old. While exploring the ruins, we will learn about this pre-Hispanic culture and the reasons behind the abandonment of Cihuatán. We will visit an old market, a games field, and ceremonial buildings among others. After the visit, we will return to the minibus and head back to San Salvador, dropping you off at your hotel 5.5 hours later.
