Dare to visit one of San Salvador's active volcanoes with this excursion to El Boquerón National Park!

Tour Details

We will pick you up at your hotel at the indicated time and board a comfortable bus to El Boquerón National Park, a protected area of over 54 hectares.

On the way, we will stop at the Reconciliation Monument and learn about its significance. Our next stop will be "The Little Prince" Theme Park in Santa Tecla, where we will explore Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's connection to El Salvador.

We will arrive at the protected area at over 4,265 ft (1,300 m) above sea level, at the top of the San Salvador volcano. Here, we will visit the Interpretation Center of the History of Eruptions, vital to understanding the active volcanoes in Central America.

After the center, we will ascend about 1,476 ft (450 m) to view the crater of the San Salvador volcano and learn about the last major eruption that occurred about 100 years ago. We will then descend through the trails of El Boquerón National Park, appreciating the area's diverse fauna and flora.

Next, we will return to see the solidified lava from the last eruption. Finally, we will head back to your hotels in San Salvador or El Tunco, after approximately 3 and a half hours.
