Mayan Route Trip

After pickup from your selected meeting point in San Salvador, we will begin our tour along the Mayan Route. After approximately one hour of driving, we will reach our first destination: the archaeological site of Joya de Cerén. We will spend an hour and a half there, known as the "Pompeii of America", where volcanic ashes have preserved the pre-Columbian Mayan village.

Next, we will travel for 20 minutes to the archaeological site of San Andrés, where we'll explore its structures during a one-hour tour. You will discover the area known as La Campana, imagining life for the Mayan nobility around 600 A.D.

Continuing along the Mayan Route, we will head to the ancient city of Santa Ana for one hour, learning about its pre-classic archaeological remains. We will also visit the current city, including Theater, Municipal Palace, and Gothic-style Cathedral.

After Santa Ana, we will travel around thirty minutes to the archaeological site of Tazumal. We'll explore the largest pyramid in El Salvador for about an hour, learning about this important Mayan city.

Finally, we will return to San Salvador and drop you back at the meeting point.

If picked up at your hotel in San Salvador, there will be a supplemental fee of 10USD per booking payable in cash on the day of the tour. For pickups in Tunco, the fee will be 20USD per booking.
