Immerse yourself in the ancient history of San Salvador on this trip along the Mayan Route, visiting the archaeological sites of San Salvador, San Andres, Santa Ana, and Tazumal.

Mayan Route Trip

Your tour begins with pickup from your selected meeting point in San Salvador. After approximately one hour of travel, you will arrive at Joya de Cerén, spending 90 minutes at this site, known as the "Pompeii of America", which showcases a pre-Columbian Mayan village preserved by volcanic ash.

The journey continues with a 20-minute drive to San Andrés, where you will tour the ruins for one hour. This area, known as La Campana, features almost intact structures that reveal insights into Mayan nobility around 600 A.D.

Next, visit the ancient city of Santa Ana for one hour, exploring archaeological remains and viewing local landmarks including the Theater, Municipal Palace, and Gothic-style Cathedral.

Your last stop is Tazumal, located 30 minutes away from Santa Ana. Here, you will spend around one hour examining the largest pyramid in El Salvador and learning about its historical significance.

The tour concludes with a return to San Salvador, where you will be dropped off at the initial meeting point.
