Description
After picking you up at any designated pickup points, we'll head to the Ruta de las Flores, known as the Route 66 of El Salvador. We will travel along the picturesque road, passing through colorful villages. Our first stop will be Juayúa, where you will learn the history behind the name. At around 3,300 feet high, we will explore the historic center, including the church of Santa Lucía and the parish church of Cristo Negro.
Next, we will visit Nahuizalco for an hour, where you will meet some of the few people still speaking the indigenous Nawat language and discover historic weaving and hat-making traditions.
In Apaneca, you will find colorful houses and the central village square, where you can meet locals and browse handicraft shops. After about one hour, we will head to Ataco, located at 3,900 feet above sea level.
