San Salvador Layover Tour
We will meet you at the arrivals bridge at El Salvador International Airport for a guided tour of the city.
The first stop will be the Armed Forces Military Museum, housing over 35,000 artefacts that showcase the city's history. We will then walk through the city centre to visit Libertad Square, the oldest square in San Salvador, followed by Rosario Church with its unique design by Rubén Martínez, Plaza Morazan, Plaza Barrios, and the new National Library (admission subject to the authorities).
Next, we will visit the Monseñor Romero memorial, a significant figure for peace in the 1980s. A panoramic tour of the capital will follow, featuring Plaza Salvador del Mundo and the Zona Rosa neighbourhood. We will conclude with a meal at a local restaurant to enjoy a dish of pupusas, a popular local delicacy.
Finally, we will return to the airport, arriving after 4-6 hours, depending on your layover duration.
Layover times
Traveling between the airport and the city centre takes 90 minutes, and you should arrive at the airport 2 hours before your flight. Therefore, a layover of at least 7.5 hours is required to fully enjoy this tour.
