Discover the natural jewel of San Salvador with a hike to the Santa Ana Volcano, learning about the 2005 eruption and enjoying impressive views from the summit of hills, lakes, and volcanoes.

Santa Ana Volcano Hike

After pickup from your selected meeting point in San Salvador, we will travel to a national park area of lakes and volcanoes, reaching the Santa Ana Volcano (also known as Llamatepec), which stands at 7,812 feet above sea level.

After approximately 90 minutes, we will start our trek to the third highest point in El Salvador, with opportunities to see stunning panoramic viewpoints along the way.

At the summit, you will learn about the volcano's geology, which dates back two million years, and admire the crater and the lagoon inside. You will also enjoy views of Coatepeque Lake, Izalco, and Cerro Verde with the Pacific Ocean beyond.

Following the hike, we will return to the meeting point in San Salvador.

If you prefer hotel pickup in San Salvador, there is a 10 USD supplemental fee per person, payable in cash on tour day. For pickup in Tunco, the fee is 20 USD per person.
