Dare to visit one of San Salvador's active volcanoes with this excursion to El Boquerón National Park, one of the most important natural reserves in the Central American country!
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up at your hotel. We'll board a comfortable bus that will take us northwest to El Boquerón National Park, a protected area of more than 54 hectares of extension.
On the way to the volcanic area, we'll stop at the Reconciliation Monument, a sculpture of great significance. We'll continue to "The Little Prince" Theme Park in Santa Tecla, where we'll learn about Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's relationship with El Salvador.
Upon arrival at the protected area, located more than 4,265 ft (1,300m) above sea level, we'll visit the Interpretation Center of the History of Eruptions. Following this, we'll ascend about 1,476 ft (450m) to reach the top of the San Salvador volcano, where you can see the crater and learn about the last major eruption that took place about 100 years ago. We'll then return through the trails of El Boquerón National Park and admire the diversity of fauna and flora.
Next, we'll travel to see the solidified lava from the last eruption before returning to your hotels in San Salvador or El Tunco.
