After meeting your guide in the historic centre of Nuremberg , you will begin your walking tour around the city. Observe the Medieval buildings along Hauptmarkt, the main market square, which was the Jewish Quarter before the Second World War.
Learn about the persecution of Jews in Nuremberg as you walk through the city towards the former Synagogue memorial. Your guide will provide insights about Kristallnacht, or the Night of Broken Glass, while exploring the old town.
Discover Nuremberg's significance for Hitler and the Nazi Party, and hear about figures like Julius Streicher. At the ruins of the Katharinenkirche, an important Medieval church destroyed during World War II, discussions will shift to the resistance and liberation efforts, highlighting the role of women known as Trümmerfrauen, or "rubble women".
Visit St Lorenz, a 13th-century Gothic church, and learn about concentration camps before proceeding to one of Hitler's preferred buildings in Nuremberg: the Opera House or Staatstheater Nürnberg.
The tour will conclude at the Way of Human Rights, or Strasse der Menschenrechte, where your guide will discuss the postwar Nuremberg Trials and their significance in international law. The tour lasts for 3 hours and ends in the centre of Nuremberg.
