Tour Details
Meet your guide in the historic centre of Nuremberg at the scheduled time for a walking tour exploring its significance during the Nazi era. Start by visiting Medieval buildings in Hauptmarkt, the main market square, formerly the Jewish Quarter before World War II.
Learn about the persecution of Jews in Nuremberg while walking towards the monument in memory of the former Synagogue. Your guide will discuss Kristallnacht, or the Night of Broken Glass, as you navigate the old town.
Continue to understand Nuremberg's significance for Hitler and the Nazi Party, including figures like Julius Streicher. The tour will include the ruins of the Katharinenkirche, a Medieval church destroyed in World War II, and stories of resistance and reconstruction led by women known as Trümmerfrauen, or "rubble women".
At St Lorenz, a 13th-century Gothic church, learn about concentration camps and their prisoners before visiting one of Hitler's favorite buildings: the Opera House or Staatstheater Nürnberg.
The tour concludes at the Way of Human Rights, or Strasse der Menschenrechte , where the guide will explain the postwar Nuremberg Trials and their significance in international law.
The tour lasts 3 hours, ending in the centre of Nuremberg.
