Tour Details
After meeting at Cruz de Piedra Square, we'll start our Day of the Dead tour at the famous Santo Domingo Square, where you will learn about Oaxaca's celebrations.
From this square, we will view the Temple of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, known for its vibrant decorations for the Day of the Dead. Bring your cameras, as this tour offers many photo opportunities.
We will stroll through the bustling streets to the Panteón General. Here, we will experience the essence of the celebration, discussing traditions and the relationship Mexicans have with death amidst tombs, music, and incense.
Our next stop will be the traditional Jalatlaco neighborhood, where you can observe how locals honor their deceased family members. Expect to see flowers, incense, and symbolism throughout this special night, with numerous intricate altars at house entrances.
The tour concludes with a dinner featuring traditional Day of the Dead dishes. This is a 4-hour tour.

Day of the Dead celebrations occur from October 30 to November 2. If you book the tour on other days, the festivities at the altars may not be visible, and the focus will shift to the traditions and history of the celebration.
