The Metropolitan Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, the Santo Domingo temple, and other historic sites await us on this free tour of Oaxaca, one of the most beautiful cities in inland Mexico.

Tour Details

We'll kick off our Oaxaca free tour in front of the Museo de los Pintores Oaxaqueños, located in the Zócalo central square. Firstly, we'll admire the façade of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, built with the emblematic green quarry stone. Our next stop will be the Mezcal Cultural Centre, where you'll discover the secrets behind Oaxaca's artisanal drink, including its production, history, and cultural value.

Next, we'll continue to the San Pablo Cultural Centre, where history and modernity coexist amid art, stone, and tradition. From there, we'll head to the elegant Macedonio Alcalá Theatre, known for its Art Nouveau style and as the stage where Mario Moreno "Cantinflas" debuted.

A few steps away, we will find the majestic Temple of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, notable for its gold-covered interior and architectural beauty. We'll also visit the Carmen Alto Temple, linked to the Guelaguetza tradition. Finally, we'll conclude the tour at the Cruz de Piedra Square after 2 hours.
