On this guided tour of Oban, you'll learn about the history of this small Scottish town, the gateway to the Hebrides. The tour will include visits to The McCaig Tower, the harbour, the distillery, and more.

Oban Town Walking Tour

We'll meet at Oban harbour at 10.30 am to begin our guided tour exploring this west coast town, known as the gateway to the Hebrides. Oban's name derives from the Gaelic for "little bay," and it boasts one of the most beautiful bays in Scotland. The tour will cover Oban's key sights, including its famous distillery, one of the oldest in Scotland, established in 1794.

After viewing the distillery, we will pass by the War and Peace Museum, where you can learn about significant events in Oban's history, including the fate of the Dutch ship SS Breda.

Finally, we will arrive at the McCaig Tower, a coliseum-like structure offering the best views of Oban and its coastline. You'll gain insights into this fascinating building, which serves as a symbol of the city.

The guided tour of Oban will conclude at 11:30 am.
