On this guided tour through the picturesque facades of Tunja, you'll explore the architectural beauty of the capital of the Boyacá department.
Description
We will pick you up from your hotel in Tunja and start our visit in the historic downtown, a national monument known for its colonial architecture and significant buildings. This area showcases 16th-century churches and period houses.
This 5-hour walking tour will highlight 15 different doorways on the facades of notable buildings in Tunja. Built from Spanish or local stone and featuring Neoclassical influences, they reflect the real estate heritage of the city.
Situated at 2,775 meters (9,104 feet) above sea level, we will share interesting facts about Tunja, recognized as the tallest city in Colombia and one of the safest in the country. The city has significant historical relevance, especially as the epicenter of Colombia's Independence in 1810.
The tour concludes with a traditional Boyacá meal, including an appetizer, a main course of meat or fish, and a refreshing beverage.
We will return to your hotel in Tunja, 5 hours after pickup.
