On this guided tour through the picturesque facades of Tunja, you'll appreciate the architectural beauty of the capital of the Boyacá department.
Description
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Tunja to begin our guided visit to the historic downtown area, a national monument for its extraordinary beauty, featuring colonial architecture with 16th-century churches.
This 5-hour walking tour will showcase 15 different doorways of significant buildings in Tunja, made of Spanish or local stone and influenced by Neoclassical design. This illustrates the real estate heritage of Boyacá city.
Situated at 2,775 meters (9,104 feet) above sea level, we'll share interesting facts about Tunja, the tallest capital in Colombia, which is also recognized as one of the safest cities in the nation. Its importance as the epicenter of Colombia's Independence in 1810 adds to its cultural significance.
To conclude our tour, we'll enjoy a traditional Boyacá meal that includes an appetizer, a choice of meat or fish for the main course, and a beverage.
We'll return to your hotel in Tunja, 5 hours after pickup.
