On the morning of your tour, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Phnom Penh and taken north of the city to visit the archaeological park of Sambor Prei Kuk. This historic royal sanctuary and former capital city dates back to the 7th century, making it several hundred years older than Angkor and placing it amongst Cambodia's oldest temple complexes.

After a journey of around three hours, you'll begin your guided visit of the ancient site, hearing all about its fascinating history while you take in the breathtaking views of the ancient archaeological complex. You'll pass temples that have been all but completely taken over by tree roots and branches and you'll feel like true explorers, discovering hidden places yet to be overrun by mass tourism.

Having seen the different architectural structures that make up this site, and learned all about the significance of the prasats, octagonal towers, Shiva lingams, yonis, ponds and statues of lions, you'll head for a well-deserved break at a local restaurant, where you'll enjoy a delicious lunch.

Following your meal, you'll be taken back to your hotel in Phnom Penh.
