Silk Island Tuk-Tuk Tour

On this tuk-tuk tour of Silk Island from Phnom Penh, we'll explore one of Cambodia's important craft traditions.

Description

At the designated time, pickup will be from your hotel in Phnom Penh using tuk-tuks. We will board a ferry to cross the Mekong River to reach Silk Island. The tuk-tuk tour will take us through rice and vegetable fields and the large local open-air market.

We will visit a local family's home to learn about the history of silk weaving in Cambodia, passed down through generations. We will discover the main techniques involved, from breeding mulberry worms to the manufacture and hand weaving of fabrics on centuries-old looms. An aperitif of fruits and snacks will also be provided.

This tour will last approximately 4.5 hours and will conclude at the starting point.
