Olbia Archaeology Tour
At 2 pm we'll meet at Molo Brin near Olbia's marina. We'll hop into a tuk tuk and start a tour of the archaeological sites of this Sardinian city with an audioguide in English.
Our first stop will be the Basilica of San Simplicio, an 11th-century Romanesque temple. Next, we'll visit the Roman aqueduct of Olbia, which supplied water from Cabu Abbas, and the nearby ancient Roman cistern used for rainwater storage.
Prior to Roman habitation, the area featured a Nuragic settlement from the Bronze Age. Key sites include the sacred well Sa Testa and the Giants' Grave of Su Mont'e s'Abe, notable for its towering stone structures reaching 92 feet (28 meters).
We'll conclude our tour at the exterior of Castello di Pedres, a 13th-century castle that originally had four towers, with one still intact.
We'll finish the tour at 5:30 pm at the starting point.
