Olbia Archaeology Tour

At 2 pm we'll meet at Molo Brin near Olbia's marina. We will hop into a tuk tuk and start a tour of the archaeological sites to learn about the past of these lands.

During the tour, we'll make several stops at different monuments for exploration. An audioguide in English will be provided for additional context.

The first stop will be at the Basilica of San Simplicio, a Romanesque temple from the 11th century. Following this, we will view the Roman aqueduct of Olbia, which supplied water from the nearby mountain of Cabu Abbas, and an ancient Roman cistern used for rainwater storage.

Prior to the Romans, the area featured a Nuragic settlement from the Bronze Age. We will see the ruins of the sacred well Sa Testa and the Giants' Grave of Su Mont'e s'Abe, notable for its large rocky constructions reaching 92 feet (28 meters).

Lastly, we will visit the exterior of Castello di Pedres, a 13th-century castle with one preserved tower. We will conclude the tour at 5:30 pm at the starting point.
