Ria Formosa Cruise

Discover one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Portugal on this cruise along the Ria Formosa. You'll visit the island of Armona and learn about oyster farming.

Activity Details

At the designated time, we'll meet at Dr. César Oliveira de Fuzeta Avenue to board the boat for a pleasant cruise along the Ria Formosa.

We'll sail around the Ria Formosa Natural Park, admiring its small fishing villages and varied wildlife and vegetation. Over 20,000 birds can be found in this park, and we'll try to spot some unusual species as we cruise.

The wetlands will lead us to the island of Armona, where we'll give you half an hour of free time to explore. You can take a dip in its golden sandy beaches or try local cuisine.

Afterward, we'll reconvene at the boat to continue sailing along the estuary. We'll learn about the importance of shellfishing in this area as we pass by oyster farms.

Our boat tour of the Ría Formosa islands will conclude back at the original departure point after a total of 2 hours.
