Activity Overview

Your adventure begins at the port of Olhão at 5:30 pm, where we will embark on a sunset boat journey through the Ria Formosa. As we sail through one of Portugal's Seven Natural Wonders, watch as the sun gracefully descends beyond the horizon. Let's set sail!

During our trip, we'll explore the distinctive elements of this extraordinary wetland region in the Algarve. You'll discover its environmental significance as the ocean's deep blue waters blend seamlessly with the ria's clarity. The vibrant color contrasts are truly breathtaking!

We'll delve into conversations about the local flora, but it’s the fauna that captivates our attention here. This area is famous for its remarkable bird diversity, so keep your eyes open... with a little luck, we may spot some fascinating species!

Before concluding our excursion, we will pause for 45 minutes in Culatra, a fishing village that embodies a peaceful coastal lifestyle. Explore small shops, cozy cafés, and family-owned restaurants that showcase the authentic charm of this hidden treasure.

Post our visit, we will continue to our next location, which is subject to seasonal changes and weather conditions. During the summer, we will make our way to Praia Deserta, a pristine beach that is only reachable by boat, celebrated for its soft sand, clear waters, and tranquil atmosphere, away from the busier areas of the Algarve.

Should the weather be cooler or windier, our alternate destination will be Armona Island, an area that harmoniously mingles nature with community life. Here, you can wander along the shoreline, admire houses nestled in gardens, and relish the laid-back vibe by the ria. In both cases, you’ll have around 30 to 45 minutes to explore the area. To cap off the experience, we will watch the stunning sunset over the Ria Formosa from the comfort of the boat.

Our journey will conclude back at the port of Olhão after a delightful 2.5-hour exploration of the Ria Formosa.
