In this documentary photography workshop in Ollantaytambo, participants will explore the last living Inca town, combining creativity with informative learning.
Workshop Details
The workshop begins at Ollantaytambo's Armas Square, in front of the Town Council. Following a brief presentation and introduction, the group will embark on an urban exploration.
The initial phase includes a photographic tour of the cobbled streets and landscapes in Ollantaytambo, allowing participants to appreciate Inca architecture. Attendees will learn to manually operate their devices and apply the 3 basic rules of documentary photography.
Next, at Mamá Eusebia Chicha Bar, participants will witness the preparation of ancestral chicha, a sacred drink for the Inca people, while discussing the local Andean culture's history and traditions. The focus will also be on lighting and photographing interiors.
The workshop will resume through the streets of Ollantaytambo as participants refine their photography skills, exploring different perspectives and movements. Each area will provide new opportunities to capture living Andean culture.
At the conclusion of the 2-hour workshop, attendees will have learned to use the manual tools of their mobile device or professional camera, gained insight into composition and documentary photographic design, and understood the basic rules of photography, including light, shadow, and perspective.
