In this documentary photography workshop in Ollantaytambo, participants will explore the art of photography in the last living Inca town.
Workshop Details
Participants will meet at Ollantaytambo's Armas Square, in front of the Town Council, for an introduction to the workshop. The first part will involve a photographic tour of the cobbled streets and landscapes, focusing on Inca architecture in a daily context. Participants will learn to manually operate their cameras or phones while applying the 3 basic rules of documentary photography.
Next, at the Mamá Eusebia Chicha Bar, the preparation of ancestral chicha will be demonstrated, discussing its significance in Andean culture. This segment will also cover lighting and photographing interiors.
The workshop will continue through the streets of Ollantaytambo, allowing participants to refine their photography skills and explore different perspectives and movements. Each area will provide opportunities to capture the essence of Andean culture.
At the end of this 2-hour workshop, participants will have learned to use the manual tools of their mobile device or professional camera, as well as gained insights into composition, documentary photographic design, photography rules, and the use of light, shadow, and perspective.
