Bike Tour of Soweto

At the indicated time, we'll meet at Kumalo Street to start this bike tour of Soweto, the most enjoyable way to tour one of the most important neighborhoods in Johannesburg!

Once everyone's set up with their bikes and helmets, we'll be ready to pedal through Soweto. We'll start the tour in Killarney to tell you how Soweto was created in 1904.

We'll continue by heading to the house of Lilian Ngoyi, an important anti-apartheid activist who fought for the rights of South African women. Then, we'll pedal on to the Hector Pieterson Museum, where the Soweto Uprising took place, one of the turning points against the apartheid system.

We will also visit Nelson Mandela's house, where he lived from 1946 to 1962, before becoming president of South Africa. Following this, we'll stop at Desmond Tutu's house, where the South African clergyman and pacifist lived, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984.

Finally, we'll take a break for lunch to taste a kota sandwich, the most typical sandwich in South Africa.

After 4 hours of biking through Soweto, the activity will end and we'll say our goodbyes back at the meeting point.
