Bike Tour of Soweto
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Kumalo Street to start this bike tour of Soweto, the most enjoyable way to tour one of the most important neighborhoods in Johannesburg!
Once everyone's set up with their bikes and helmets, we'll be ready to pedal through Soweto. We'll start the tour in Killarney to explain how Soweto was created in 1904.
We'll continue to the house of Lilian Ngoyi, an important anti-apartheid activist, followed by the Hector Pieterson Museum, the site of the Soweto Uprising, a significant turning point against the apartheid system.
Next, we'll visit Nelson Mandela's house, where he lived from 1946 to 1962, and then stop at Desmond Tutu's house, where the Nobel Peace Prize laureate lived.
Finally, we'll take a break for lunch and taste a kota sandwich, the most typical sandwich in South Africa!
After 4 hours of biking through Soweto, the tour will conclude, and we'll return to the meeting point for farewells.
